Published: 16/03/2021

Modularity, flexibility and practicality are the three keywords that summarize the style and the philosophy of Makro Labelling, made in Italy producer of industrial labellers for the beverage, food, home, personal care and pharmaceutical industry sectors, with headquarters at Goito, near Mantova.

The company has achieved a good ranking not only in the Italian but also in the European and international markets, controlled by a widespread commercial network of agencies, representatives and direct branches.

Currently, the challenge for Makro Labelling is harmonizing the technological, mechanical and electronic innovation of its machines with energy saving, according to a sustainability concept.

The technical office and the research and development division constantly operate to develop innovative solutions that can understand the sector demands. Along the years, the company has registered several patents that confer utmost functionality and user-friendliness to labellers. Introduced in 2014, Follower patent is a module that can be installed on the labeller and allows performing bottle orientation in order to place labels on a precise reference point on the bottle.

The system works with a drastically lower number of sensors (1 against 10 for instance) compared to standard solutions, significantly reducing changeover times. Afterwards, the patent was implemented with the addition of linear scanning cameras able to take thousands of linear photos (1×2.048 pixels) that, glued one after the other, allow achieving a single image that represents the flat bottle developing. The following analysis provides the position of the searched reference, which will be used by the plate management system to suitably position the bottle and to receive the first label in the right position.

Labellers for all requirements

MAK 01, MAK 02 and MAK 1 are the labellers designed for those companies that do not need to reach high production speed. These machines are equipped with mechanical or electronic bottle holder plate rotation. The 520/780 mm carousel is covered by AISI 304 stainless steel sheet. MAK 01, MAK 02 and MAK 1 are produced in various versions: cold glue, hot glue, self-adhesive, roll feed or combined. Production speeds vary from 1,500 b/h to 12,000 b/h. MAK 02 is prearranged for the installation of Follower patent. Available in cold and hot glue, self-adhesive, roll feed or combined versions, MAK 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 labellers are designed for medium and large companies, since they are equipped with special applications and manage production speeds ranging from 1,500 b/h to 50,000 b/h.

Makro Labelling can develop special machines for special and customized applications, putting its technology at disposal of its customers’ requirements.
